Consulting vs. Community Engagement Program

Professional Services

This page helps distinguish between Educational Consulting and the Community Engagement Program. These are separate areas of work and are structured for different purposes.

Educational Consulting is a scoped, organization-specific service. It is used when a church, nonprofit, school, or community organization needs structured guidance, analysis, or recommendations to support planning, program development, or decision-making.

The Community Engagement Program is a separate program area. It is used for structured participation in learning, workshops, cohorts, and other community-based programming. It is not the same as contracted consulting work.

While both areas may support organizations and communities, they do so in different ways. Educational Consulting is advisory and project-based, while the Community Engagement Program is programmatic and participation-based.

How It Works

Educational Consulting

Organization-specific, scoped advisory work that supports planning, analysis, and decision-making.

Used when the need is guidance, recommendations, or structured review.

Community Engagement Program

Program-based participation through workshops, cohorts, training, and community-engaged learning opportunities.

Used when the need is participation in structured programming rather than contracted consulting.

If your organization needs advisory support tailored to its own context, Educational Consulting is the appropriate path. If you are looking for participation in structured programming, training, or community-based learning, the Community Engagement Program is the appropriate path.

These two areas are distinct and are not combined into a single service.
